He slowly opened it and read Vesper's final words (at this point, I can envision a voice-over of Vesper reading the letter). He stared at the letter addressed "Pour Lui". The compassionate hand of the patron lightly touched his shoulder and Bond lifted his head, "Please notify the Commissaire, I'll be in my room if he wants me." And shuffled back into his room, he bent over and picked up the discarded letter on the floor, found the edge of his bed and sat down. Bond drew back the sheet, his impassive face analyzing the Vesper's body warm and full of colour, the night before now cadaverous and cold.īond set slowly stood up, clutching the bedside table to keep balance he notices a white-bottomed glass. He pushes the patron aside as he runs out into the hall and enters Vesper's bedroom Vepser's pale face sticking out of the shrouding, white bedsheets. I can see the ending now.īond springs upright to the frightened cries of the patron as he waved a letter, "Monsieur Bond, monsieur Bond, wake up! There has been a terrible accident! Vite, venez avec moi!"īond's body immediately awakens to the news he whips the sheets away and runs to the connecting door. Actually, probably not but it would be cold nonetheless. Oh, I forgot about the final line! Now that I think about it, that would make a pretty cold ending for a James Bond film, maybe even one to compete with OHMSS. ![]()
